Yesterday was the opening of the exhibition of the Austrian artist Alfredo Barsuglia at the unttld contemporary gallery. My appreciation for art mainly extends to contemporary, modern and surrealism and I am always interested in visiting exhibitions from new artists. Austria is a cultural hub and such opportunities come often and if you ask the art connoisseurs they will tell you that Vienna is a haven of art. The cognisant of Barsuglia’s work will admire his narrative, contemporary installations and will even meet the artist himself, who was also participating in yesterday’s three part sequential performance which is part of his exhibited work. The artist magnificently explores different actualities by creating scenes that balance between reality and illusion. The use of exhibition space in itself sets a disharmonious scene to Barsuglia’s art as it juxtaposes the cold, concrete space of the industrialised design against the organic warmth of the artist’s wooden installations.
The exhibition runs until June 18th.
Tuesday to Friday, 11.00 am to 07.00 pm
